A first solo exhibition in the US since 1980
An exhibition on Léon Spilliaert will run from 5 March to 12 April at the David Zwirner gallery in New York. The exhibition is jointly organised with gallery Agnews Brussels and is curated by its director Dr Noémie Goldman. For the first time since 1980, when the exhibition Léon Spilliaert: Symbol and Expression in 20th Century Belgian Art was organised at the Philips Collection in Washington and the Metropolitan Museum in New York, Spilliaert will thus have a solo exhibition in the United States. The focus of the exhibition is on the 1900s and 1910s, including the works Lady with lorgnette (1907), Lady on a sofa (1907), Girl in white (1912) and The sewing (1917).
