Until 14 Augustus 2026 Patrick Derom Gallery in Brussels organizes the exhibition Léon Spilliaert. Through Half-Open Doors.

The exhibition, curated by Anne Adriaens-Pannier and Edouard Derom, features some 40 unique works by the artist from private collections, with a focus on stillifes and interiors. The gallery puts it as follows:

“A climate of silence reigns in Spilliaert’s rooms and interiors, devoid of human presence. He captures the immutability of objects such as bottles and flasks, seashells, a pair of discarded gloves while these objects take on a life of their own.”

A minority of the works are for sale. The exhibition can be visited for free at Patrick Derom Gallery (Wolstraat 1, 1000 Brussels) from Wednesdays until Saturdays, 11 am until 6 pm, until 14 Augustus 2026.
